Medical alert monitoring is our only business, not just a sideline, and we have an excellent reputation. We offer a welcome alternative to the big names that advertise on TV. LifeLine and LifeAlert range in price from $34.95 to $49.95/month, and they charge from $50 to $195 up front. LifeAlert requires a 3 year agreement. They sell by pressure telemarketing, and do not have local field service employees.
Some of our clients have been happily “aging in place” for more than 10 years. When we began business in 1995, our early customers were agencies that paid us to provide medical alert monitoring for their elderly clients living alone. Although we’ve added many private-pay clients over the years, agencies are still a major source of business. Our primary agency customers are Ohio Home Care (Medicaid), Franklin County Senior Options, Passport, and the Licking County Aging Program. When these agencies encounter clients unable to qualify for their assistance, they often refer them to us.
Agencies have always required us to set high standards for client care, and we have necessarily structured our business to provide it. We treat all of our clients like family members, via both phone and in-home. Our installers spend as much in-home time as necessary to make sure that installations are working well, and that new clients are comfortable in the use of their new systems. Continuing phone and field contacts are made in a thoroughly professional and family-friendly manner.
We recognize that we can’t “be all things for all people”, and we don’t try. Since we’re dedicated to providing free personalized service, clients must be within reasonable service staff driving distance. At this time, our service area boundaries are generally defined by London, Delaware, Mt Vernon, Zanesville, Lancaster and Circleville.
